Brooklyn Barrett
Brooklyn Barrett is a sophomore at Kent County High School. She’s been surrounded by music her whole life. A few of her favorite artists include Kevin Gates, Trippie Redd, and Sleepy Hallow. Hip hop to her is a stress reliever because it is always there for her when she is upset. Brooklyn joined the Hip Hop Time Capsule program because, in addition to really loving music, she loves everything that has to do with old music especially. She wanted to learn more about Kent County history and everything that's been documented/a part of MAKING Kent history. Brooklyn loved listening to Hip Hop, but didn't really know much about it and its origins until this program. She really hopes to do something with music later in life.

A1000Kisses was what people called my mom back in the day because she was really into rapping and writing her own songs - her and her friends were always in talent shows. I thought it’d be pretty cool and memorable to use my mom’s emcee name during the Hip Hop Time Capsule program.
