Sam Buckel, 17, is a senior at Kent County High School. Although he listens to hip hop recreationally, he has found a new love for the genre because of his time with the Hip Hop Time Capsule program. Throughout his mixtape, he hopes to bring the topics of pure joy and jubilation to light within the sampling and poetry constructed within. To further his passion for public policy and government, Sam is the current Student Member of the Board for Kent County Public Schools. He is involved in Student Government and National Honor Society, where he is president of both organizations. He is also historian and social media coordinator within the Interact Club, Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and Student Government. He has also earned his Maryland Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. With his continued work for advocacy, Sam is a part of Maryland Association of Student Councils. Within MASC, he is a voting member on the executive board, a workshop presenter, and part of the environmental affairs and civic engagement committees. Now that you know a little more about Sam, be sure to listen to ‘The Life of Jubilation’.
