Erin Helgerman is a Sophomore at Washington College originally from Gaithersburg, MD. She is a double major in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, Art, and Art History; as well, as a Psychology minor. Erin is passionate about teaching youth through mentorship programs in Kent County through Minary’s Dream Alliance, Talbot Mentors, and community events. With her experience in mentoring, she has expanded into doing research with Dr. Rachel Rodriquez on the Impact of Mentorship Programs on Youth Development alongside fellow co-researcher Jocelyn Aquilino. After completing her initial degrees at Washington College, she hopes to either pursue Forensic Psychology or Secondary Education in graduate school. With an eye for visual arts, she hopes to expand on her knowledge of the arts with music. Inspirations include Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Mac Miller, and other R&B artists. Erin is excited to learn more about the history of Kent County and build lifelong bonds with fellow artists in the program.
