Hip Hop makes its mark on the future by sampling sounds, ideas, and images from the past.
This summer, the Hip Hop Time Capsule will explore the past, present, and future of 800 High Street in Chestertown, MD. Using hip hop, film-making, woodworking, and metalworking we will leave our mark on this historic site of innovation and manufacturing for Kent County and lend our voices to critical conversations within our community.
Interns will work in teams to honor the site’s history, beautify the space, and prepare performances for a fall groundbreakingfuture events. Throughout the process, interns will gain workplace skills in audio engineering, music production, film- making, video-editing, woodworking, metalworking, digital design, finanacial literacy, and public speaking.
Our goal is to select and hire at least 18 paid interns ($1,200 stipends for two-weeks of full-time work) as well as collaborate with public high schools and non-profits on summer programming.
