Jayden Ali

Growing up in northern Virginia, the birthplace of the Civil War, Jayden developed a passion for history through his environment. From a young age, he was intrigued with the past and always looked for the next opportunity to learn more. In high school, he maintained a 3.5 GPA over four years. He was in numerous clubs and athletics such as the National History Honor Society, National Honor Society, and the varsity football team. Jayden became involved with the Starr Center in his junior year of high school and is now an incoming freshman at Washington College with a Quill and Compass Scholarship. He plans on double-majoring in secondary education and history to eventually make a career of teaching history.

“I already carry the world like its mine

so let me bust a rhyme

and tell you about a place that

withstood the test of greater time”

I chose Atlas the 2nd (A2) for this project, specifically for its Greek mythology background. In Greek mythology, Atlas is a Titan who bears the weight of the heavens on his shoulders. He is the incarnate of strength and endurance, two qualities which I strive to carry through my life every day.
