Maya Tann

Maya was first introduced to oral history when they started working with the Starr Center. They began working with Urgent Care: Public History & Modern Pandemics in the summer of 2020. Then, they began working for the Chesapeake Heartland Project in multiple roles, as an oral historian, truck ambassador for The Sankofa Truck, and exhibit curator. They are now a recent Washington College alumni with a degree in Sociology and a double minor in Public Health and Biology. They are pursuing a career in behavioral services and plan to get their master’s in applied behavior analysis to work with autistic children and prepare them for success.

MT Fire

MT Fire (Maya the Fire) was created because my rising sign is a Leo and amongst the four elements, Leos are fire signs. Fire signs usually bring a lot of heart, passion, and energy into whatever room they enter. I want to bring that fiery passion to the Hip Hop Time Capsule. So get ready cause it’s MT Fire comin’ at you hot.
