Phebe Wood

Phebe Lace Wood has been performing since a very young age, first with her Godfather, and lead man of the Big Bear Band, David Grover, and later in plays and musicals in her schools and local theaters. She also trained at Show Circus Studio in Northampton Massachusetts for three and a half years, primarily on aerial fabric. Phebe is also passionate about activism and organizing. In the past six years she has interned on a congressional campaign, conducted a review of gender disparities in her high school English curriculum, and spearheaded a successful effort to have the curriculum changed. In college, Phebe plans to earn her B.F.A. in musical theatre and/or dance. Phebe has always admired hip hop, but she’s never had the opportunity to be a part of any artistic projects which incorporate it. She is tremendously excited to be a part of the Hip Hop Time Capsule, and hopes to come out of the experience with a better understanding of hip hop and a super cool mixtape.

Thaleia (tha-lee-uh)

The name Thaleia (tha-lee-uh) comes from the Greek muse often portrayed holding a dramatic mask. I chose this name because my musical and performing style is fun and theatrical and Thaleia is the muse of comedy. The name also means ‘rich festivity’, which is a spirit I hope to embody in the art I create.
