Amos’s enslaver, a white farmer named William Price, lived in Queen Anne’s County. The coordinates given by the broadside — ten miles from Chestertown (“Newtown, Chester”), five miles from Millington (“Bridge-town”), and four miles from Sudlersville (“Sudler’s Cross-Roads”) — indicate that the site of Amos’s enslavement was near the present-day location of Route 301 in the northeast corner of the county.

This 1794 map from the Library of Congress depicts the area.
